Defiant By Nature, a New York-based company established in 2019, seeks to illuminate stories which speak to our hearts — especially those from women and nonbinary creators — in an effort to uplift, inspire, challenge and entertain. Lead by its President & Founder, filmmaker Marielle Heller (A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood and Can You Ever Forgive Me?) along with Leah Holzer and Havilah Brewster, Defiant By Nature hit the ground running by producing What The Constitution Means To Me (Amazon) and developing shows with This American Life, The Atlantic, Cate Blanchett and their partners at Paramount Television Studios, among others. Defiant By Nature is determined to maintain this momentum in order to highlight new talent and tell remarkable stories.
